Modern LG fridges boast intelligent multi-level temperature control. This means that the owner can set the optimal mode himself, depending on many factors: outside temperature, load level and what products are currently in it.
Fridge temperature: how to choose the right one.
It is no secret that different conditions are suitable for different products: meat, fish, and dairy products require lower temperatures than, for example, fresh vegetables, fruits or herbs. All this is provided by LG technology. The fridge is divided into several zones with different modes. The internal temperature is set to 2-3 °C by default. For meat and fish, a “Fresh Zone” has been created, inside which it is cooler - 1-2 °C. In the areas intended for prepared foods, the temperature is about 4-5 °C, and on the top shelf, you can store semi-finished and ready-made meals. The temperature inside the fridge is highest on the shelves located on the door since they are located at the greatest distance from the evaporator.
What temperature should the freezer be?
In different LG fridges, depending on the model, the temperature inside the freezer is set differently. If the “freezer” is built-in, then to save energy, it is preset at a temperature not lower than -12°C, since small volumes of frozen food are consumed in a fairly short period. In such fridges, you can set the temperature in the freezer yourself by selecting from three values Min (Minimum), Medium (Average) and Max (Maximum). However, manufacturers recommend not experimenting and using factory temperature settings.
In LG two-chamber fridges equipped with an inverter compressor, temperature control in the fridge and freezer cabinets occur independently of each other. In the freezer, the temperature can be set in the range from -6 to -26 °C, and there is also a “shock freezing” mode: it is ideal for fresh vegetables, fruits, and berries, allowing you to preserve their freshness and maximum beneficial properties. The average freezer temperature recommended by manufacturers is -18 °C. This temperature is optimal for storing food for the longest possible period.
In premium LG fridge models, owners can set the temperature in different zones of the fridge remotely using a special program on a smartphone. To do this, you need to install the LG ThinQ application.
If problems arise with the temperature inside the fridge and freezer, experts advise paying attention to several reasons:
- Check that the camera door closes tightly. If the door is not closed properly, warm air from outside enters the chamber and the food becomes hot. In a freezer, this can cause the door and sides to freeze, further preventing the freezer from closing properly.
- Make sure the vent is not blocked. This happens if there are too many products in the fridge compartment and they are located close to each other, interfering with air circulation.
- Pay attention to external factors. For example, if the equipment is placed in direct sunlight or where it is too hot.
- The fridge was unplugged. For the optimal temperature to be established inside the fridge, at least 24 hours must pass.
